 Nowadays, there are a lot of pirates in the sea. In order to confront them the airforce uses a plane called P3-Orión. 

This plane is old but very effective, it can have visual of the pirates staying in a high altitude without being detected. As well as it fight against the pirates, it can be used against ships and submarines. 

In Spain we have three P3-Orión in the airbase of Morón, Seville. During the year it also fly over the Indian Ocean to fight aganist pirates in an operation called Operación Atalanta. However, now Spain is searching for another plane to subtitute this one.

In conclusión, the P3-Orión is one of the most effective planes against sea enemies, but it’s getting old and soon or later it will be removed by another aircraft.
