Some people might think that an airplane is just a machine, a brilliant humankind invention, or even just a means of transport. Personally I think it is much more than that, it is true that it is also a machine and a very complex invention, but it goes further than that. When you take off for your first time in your life you immediately understand that the aeronautical world is also about sensations and feelings. It is difficult to get your head around the fact that a 50-tonnes, 60-meters-long metal giant is capable of floating in the air, and not only that, it is also capable of cruising the air at amazing speeds up to 1200 kilometers per hour.
But this beautiful world isn’t only about feelings and mouth-opening gigantic planes flying over our heads, it has a lot of effort and sacrifice behind it. Normally the first reaction to a perfectly uniformed pilot walking into an airplane walking into an A330 is: “How lucky, I wish I was there!”. But there are hundreds of hours of study, thousands of hours away from home and family and not so many hours of sleep. And it is all that passion given to the beautiful world of aviation which makes it so mesmerizing
