WRITING 1 RUBEN CUENCA MARTÍNEZ

The F4 Phantom is a twin-engine, long-range fighter bomber that has been broadly used since its first flight in the 60s mainly by the US Military and the Iranian Air Force.

This plane was mostly used during the Vietnam War for bombing and air superiority purposes. Although it was a much heavier plane than most of fighters it could reach Mach 2. It preserved for at least 50 more years in other armies such as the German Air Force and even served in the Spanish Air Force. However, today the F4 Phantom stands no chance against the extremely advanced 4th and 5th generation fighter jets that some armies can afford. That is the main reason why only some countries located in the Middle East still use it.

In conclusion the F4 Phantom is nowadays an outdated plane for modern dog fighting but will remain as one of the most iconic planes of the Vietnam War and the Cold War era.
