Today I´m going to talk about the Lockheed P3-Orion, a military aircraft which is used by our Army.
This aircraft has been used by the Spanish Air Force since 1973 with the
purpose of maritime surveillance. Talking about technical characteristics
it can reach 750 km/h and it has an autonomy of 5.000km approximately. It
has a huge fuselage because it is also used for the transport of goods.
Nowadays, P3-Orion is used in Atalanta Operation, an European
military mission whose goal is to fight against piracy in the Indic Ocean,
especially in Somalia.
Despite some characteristic such as the power of this machine which is produced by four engines, it will be replaced the next years due to their age.
