The CASA C-101 Aviojet is a single-engine advanced training and light attack jet aircraft manufactured by the Spanish company ´´Construcciones Aeronáuticas S.A.´´.
Its designation as C-101 follows the scheme of the aircraft designed by CASA, with the initial C of the manufacturer and then a three-digit number, of which the first corresponds to the number of engines, one in this case, having chosen the following two as the first single-engine designed by the company.
They will be replaced, from 2020, by the Pilatus PC-21. It has a good acceleration and it is very manoeuvrable at high and low level, admitting load factors between +7.5 and -3.9 g. In addition, the Aviojet is capable of landing at 100 knots. It is the aircraft model used by the Eagle Patrol in its aerial acrobatic displays. The C-101 is already at the end of its operational life and must be replaced.
It has suffered few accidents in its career and is a safe and noble aircraft. It has been sold to countries such as Chile or Jordan. It is a plane much loved and respected by all pilots, who have dubbed it "'culopollo'.
