 C-130 Hercules is an American plane used by the Spanish Air Force. It has participated in several missions from various fields, such as humanitarian aid, peacekeeping missions, among many others.

It was first acquired in 1973, and till the day, it continues to be used in most specialty transportation missions. The aircraft is located at the Zaragoza Air Base, which is part of the “Ala 31”.

As for its most relevant technical characteristics, they are:

- It has 4 motors.

- It can fly over the Atlantic Ocean without needing to be refuelled by another plane.

- It does not have weapons, although it has a version that does carry weapons.

- It can refuel other aircraft in flight.

To date, it is the aircraft of excellence of the Spanish Air Force, however, with the arrival of the new A400-M, the C-130 Hercules, it is being withdrawn from the Air Force aircraft staff.
