Transport aircrafts are essential in armies around the world because the transport of cargo throughout the world would be very difficult without them.
Hercules is a transport airplane which was designed in the 50s by the company Lockheed. Firstly, it was flown by the US Army in 1950 and now is the principal airplane of many countries around the world. It is thrusted by 4 turboprop engines which is the reason why this is not one of the fastest airplanes in the world. Moreover, it has a cargo door at the tail of its fuselage through which it can enter a lot of cargo due its big dimensions. Because of this it has a big landing gear which has more than 15 wheels capable of supporting the weight of this great flying machine, furthermore it has a big cockpit and nose where the pilots have a lot of space to carry out their work in the most comfortable way. Despite of its age it continues flying around the world serving as the first flight.
To sum up, for me this plane is an aviation legend because since their manufacture, transport aircrafts acquire a lot of importance.
