A C-130 Hercules is a military transport aircraft, which is used by the most prepared armies, for instance the US Air Force, the English Royal Air Force, the Spanish Royal Air Force… 

To begin with, it is such a famous plane because it´s amazing flight capacity, since it has four turboprops engines that allows it to fly with more than ten tons of weight, making it the perfect plane for carrying troops and even some small vehicles or helicopters. 

Furthermore, the C-130 Hercules can also be used as a tanker plane for refueling some fighter jets. Despite being a heavy aircraft it reaches 600 kilometers per hour due to it´s powerful engines and it´s modern aerodynamical fuselage. Another mission attach to the C-130 is the search of submarines, this mission is less common, but in some countries it is used like their main antisubmarine weapon. 

To sum up, the C-130 is an astonishing polyvalent airplane. A few years ago some armies thought that it´s operational life would become to an end soon. Nevertheless another armies have remodeled and updated the aircraft, so I am sure it will continue on service for many years.
