Modern aircrafts can perform countless maneuvers. Therefore, the aim of the present essay is to unfold the possible operations which could be done with an air combat plane.
Firstly, one of the most useful maneuvers, which is accomplished by rolling with the nose low into the turn and dropping into a steeper slice turn is known as the low Yo-Yo. Pilots resort to that operation in order to improve the angle of the attack during a combat. In other terms, the aircraft uses gravity to avoid a stuck combat in a circular spin. Furthermore, this helps the aircrafts to prevent an overshoot by placing the energy back into altitude.
Secondly, the high Yo-Yo is another version of the previous maneuver which consists of the basic attack of a fighter. This one is used to lose speed without sacrificing position or energy. That is, velocity is momentarily exchanged for altitude and position, only to then exchange altitude for velocity. Once the attack has been made, its velocity vector takes it to a position ahead and above the enemy from which it initiates the next attack, taking little risk.
To sum up, I would like to remark the stunning maneuvers that an aircraft can perform, being the high and the low Yo-Yo two of the most important and impressive ones.
