Basic maneuvers in modern aircraft.
Basic maneuvers in aviation can be summarized in three. Yaw, roll and pitch. These three fundamental maneuvers are the turning movements on the three axes of the plane, the vertical, the longitudinal and the transversal respectively.
The yaw is a movement that occurs when the airplane's rudder turns left or right.
Roll is the movement around the longitudinal axis of the aircraft, it is produced by the aircraft's flaps, which move in the opposite direction with respect to each other. If, for example, you wanted to turn clockwise, the flap on the right would go up while the one on the left would go down.
Pitching is the last of the three fundamental maneuvers, it is performed on the transverse axis of the aircraft and its movement is due to the action of the elevator.
Although these are the basic maneuvers, in practice they are rarely performed individually. Navigation normally requires the use of several of these maneuvers simultaneously. For what modern aircraft have more electronic aids to facilitate the pilot to precisely control all maneuvers.
