The Lockheed C-130 Hercules, better known as just Hercules, is the biggest plane in the Spanish Air Force. This aircraft is a gigantic transport plane, it can transport up to 10 tonnes and it can fly at really high speeds. Its main purpose is transport and resupply. But we can’t not forget about their humanitarian missions in many different countries.

It was first manufactured in the USA by Lockheed Aircraft Corp., its first flight was in 1954. Years later, in 1973 the Hercules was incorporated in Spain, in Ala 31, thus there are not many of them, right now there are only 5 Hercules functioning.

This airplane is characterized by its striking form. The fuselage is incredibly huge, otherwise the nose and cockpit are more elongated horizontally and vertically, these proportions really stand out and make people like it.

Moreover, about its general features, it has 4 turbine engines and it weighs 33.000kg. Its capacity is 7000 meters square and it only needs 2 pilots onboard as tripulation. This plane doesn’t carry any armament.

To sum up, everyone is amazed by the size of the C-130 Hercules. It has revolutionized the world of flight and transport.
