We can distinguish several types of aerial maneuvers made by plane, but the most typical ones are lines, curls and barrels
Lines are the most typical way of flying. It consist in following a straight line with the plane, in which you can lose, gain or keep height.
The curl, looping or loop is an aerial maneuver that is carried out describing an almost circular and closed flight path in a vertical plane, passing through the positions of ascent, inverted flight and dive. Generally, it requires a single positive control of the elevator and the throttle lever.
A barrel is an acrobatic aerial maneuver. It consists of making a 360º rotation in the longitudinal axis of the plane, which marks the direction of flight.
Barrels are prolonged stall, in which the aircraft falls into a low nose position describing a helical trajectory (like a corkscrew) around its vertical axis. It could be really dangerous if it is made in a low height.
These are the main maneuvers made by planes and they are crucial to complete the tasks they have
