Nowadays,
every aircraft needs radio communications they are so important that without
any radio communication any aircraft could fly. For example, aircrafts need to
know how the airport traffic is and if they are allowed to land or not, without
radio communication this could not be possible.
Another
important reason to have a good radio communication is to be able to talk
between different aircrafts and share important information between each other.
A good example occurred a few months ago here in Spain, when a military
aircraft had to take off and intercept a commercial plane because this one had
lost part of its landing gear. When the military aircraft got close to the
plane this one could evaluate the damage and contact the pilot via radio to
tell him how they could try to make an emergency landing. Radio communications
are so important that normally every aircraft has two or three different radio
systems so they can still communicate if one of them fails or gets intercepted
by the enemy.
In
conclusion, these are some of the reasons why radio communications are so
useful on aircrafts.
