A few years ago, a terrific airplane accident in which a plane of a Russian airline was fully destroyed hit the headlines. Further research proved that the main reason for that unexpected crash was a malfunction of radio communications between the aircraft and the control tower located in the nearest airport.
Firstly, since the development of modern aviation in the 19th century and the invention of radio transmitters, the way the pilot does its actions has totally evolved. Furthermore, the figure of the air controller has taken a great role in a way never thought before.
In addition, the marvelous importance the correct use of prowords has should be taken into account. We are talking about those short and sometimes weird words needed to communicate between a transmitter and a receiver; “affirmative”, “roger” or “stand by” are a few examples of that specific grammar.
Summing up, we must emphasize the fact that in modern aircraft equipped with very expensive systems and capable of executing the most demanding maneuvers, a great radio communication system is totally needed in order to avoid aircraft accidents like the one mentioned before.
