WRITING 5 GUILLERMO MAYA MARTÍNEZ

When we need to talk to each other, we have the facility of doing it face to face, but when it comes to aviation, where we also need to communicate fluently, we are not capable of doing it as easy as if we were in person given that a plane is flying 30000ft above us. That is why we need to use radio communications.

Radio communications play a key role in day-to-day activities involved in aviation, in fact, planes cannot fly if communications are broken or suspended. Throughout the radio, airplanes receive crucial information about where to land, if they are allowed to do so, what “way” they need to follow in order to reach their destination and a vast number of other things.

Communications are so important that here in the “Academia General del Aire” we have a special subject about them and how to use communications correctly before hoping on a plane (with its own “language”), probably if we do not know how to communicate with each other with the radio, likely they will not allow us to fly. Or even more dangerous, if we do not use them correctly it can lead into a fatal crash.
