WRITING 5 FERNANDO DEL REAL SÁNCHEZ

Every minute, there many aircraft that are in our sky, travelling from one country to another, or even between continents. That aircrafts are always in communication with the airports, which have one of the most important jobs, coordinating all the flights.

Airports plane controllers oversee informing the pilots about the weather conditions, the traffic in the airport… All of these is available because of the radio communications. The pilots must learn how to convey a message the best way possible, but sometimes, the conditions make this labour almost impossible. That is why they use some codes and words as, for example, roger, affirmative, negative… that are the same for every language.

When any aircraft is approaching to the airport to land, the pilot start a conversation with the airport staff in order to know where they have to land, any type of weather warnings and, basically, anything that the pilot must know before starting the landing. This conversation is always recorded just in case there was an accident.

Any kind of miscommunication could lead to an accident, so pilots and the airport staff must be constantly checking, via radio that the flight is happening as planned.
