Modern airplanes have amazing gadgets that help pilots to have fluent radio communications. This essay has the objective of describing some reasons why these messages are so important.
Firstly, radio communications are indispensable to avoid accidents, for example, airplane crash, if two airplanes have the same direction and altitude, they can communicate between them and one may ascend or descend by changing its pitch axis.
Secondly, communication between pilots and radio controllers must be smooth in order to conserve the fluency in the air traffic. Prowords and phonetic alphabet are used for this. The first ones are key words, for example, “roger” that means that you have received the message and you have understand it; or “stand by”, simply, wait for response. On the other hand, we find the phonetic alphabet, this one consists of a preset number of words used to avoid misunderstandings between pilots and air controllers. Some of them are, “Bravo” that stands for B, or “Zulu” which means Z. This Alphabet is used by either military or civil pilots.
To conclude, fluency in radio communications is essential for the safety of the flight.
