Communications on aircraft have been perfected over the years, specially in the last, when science has allowed it. Nowadays, we couldn´t fly without of these communications.
Radio communications have been important since the planes were created. An airplane pilot would not be able to communicate without these, so they are subjected to using them day after day, so they must know how to use them for a good flying. In case of emergency, this one must have radio communications to contact the control tower in order to resolve the issue. To land off and take off the pilots have to contact with the tower too, if not, the aircraft couldn´t fly.
Apart, at last but not least, we also can find radio communications in boats; for example, in our army the officers must to communicate with others or other possible enemies too (this has taken place many times in some missions where without being able to communicate, many people could have died).
Finally, I strongly believe that we couldn´t live without these type of communication, specially in air force, when it is as important as the plane wing or more.
