An aircraft without radio communications is like a car without lights. An experienced pilot will know how to land a plane with a damaged motor or with half a wing. However, without communications, it will be very difficult or near to impossible to make a successful flight.
From the moment of entering the plane cabin, the pilot begins to communicate via
radio. First, he receives the instructions to take off, once in the air he can make contact with another airport and upon landing, the pilot will receive speed and altitude corrections from the ATC (air traffic control) tower. Radio communications not only make the pilot able to speak with the ground or other aircrafts, they are not only human voice. Weather radar, collision alerts, taking off and landing procedures, and much other information come into radio packets displayed
inside the screens in the plane.
In conclusion, radio communications is one of the most important systems inside and outside an aircraft. Thus, the pilot needs to master the radio procedures and protocols as it were the most fundamental flying ability.
