Radio communications are essentials in aircrafts, as nowadays Internet is in our lives. Now every aircraft uses radio communications. To start with I would like to explain how radio communications were developed.
Firstly, it wasn´t until 1930, when a plane with radio communication was created, just a few years before the Second World War. It was a breathtaking invention which allowed to speak with other pilots of their squadron. Since then, it has been evolving until our days and it´s importance has also grown. Besides, pilots and soldiers have developed a new phonetic alphabet and prowords which help them to understand the message when the signal is weak, as for example: over, affirmative, acknowledge…
Secondly, if aircrafts hadn´t had radio communications, most of the missions wouldn´t have succeeded. That´s because radio communications are used for talking about the targets and everything improves if the pilots are coordinated. Furthermore, I can´t imagine a pilot who couldn´t speak with their mates and say: Roger, I wilco.
To sum up, I think in the future radio communications will even be more fundamental in aircrafts, but I can´t imagine if now we have such technological advances, how it will be in the future.
